The Danube -the blue ribbon of Europe

Cultural diversity in the Danube region

For grades 10-13

Many different ethnic groups meet in the Danube region. This leads to conflicts, but also to a lively cultural exchange. The young people learn how trade relations connect the countries with one another and how a multiethnic coexistence works – in the past as well as today. How do you recognize the influences of different cultures, for example in language? Various festivals and events along the Danube illustrate the importance of cross-border encounters.
