On the trail of the Danube Swabians!

Age: 9 to 12 years

Who are the Danube Swabians? How did you travel 300 years ago? And what is it like to live in a foreign country? Make your way through the exhibition “Donauschwaben. Departure and Encounter”. At various discovery stations, the whole family can puzzles, do handicrafts, play, build and much more together.

You can borrow the discovery suitcase free of charge at the museum ticket office.

Off to the Danube with the beaver Ubi!

Age: 9 to 12 years

The little beaver Ubi has already heard many stories about the Danube, some so incredible that he now wants to discover them for himself: Who is the legendary Danube dinosaur? Where is the Iron Gate? And what are bushos, please? Get the booklet and go on a discovery tour with Ubi through the exhibition “Danube. River stories ”! There are many exciting puzzles, games and tasks waiting for you.

A mystery from the past

Age: 6 to 10 years

The future man takes you on a turbulent journey through time. Try to solve the riddle with him about a small object from his family inheritance. To do this, you have to help him survive a trip with the Ulmer Schachtel undamaged. He needs your knowledge of the Danube, its countries, cities and rivers. And you also have to give him active support when working in the country. But be careful, you only have a limited time to search.

Fairytale journey along the Danube
There was once …

Age: 5 to 8 years

Do you already know the Wassermännle from Ulm? Hear his story and swim with him along the Danube to other fairytale creatures, old mills, huge fish and sunken islands – through many different countries to the Black Sea. A fairytale museum visit around the Danube awaits you!

Discovery tour through the museum building
Behind thick walls

Age: 5 to 10 years

What kind of strange building is the DZM in? Why are the walls so thick? And why is there a hole in the ceiling? Come along on a discovery tour through and around the museum building. Find out why it was built, how long it is, and who lived here. Exciting puzzles and fun games are waiting for you.

A stop motion film for children. The little mouse Ulla travels with the Ulmer box on the Danube.

Children's birthday

Invite your friends and siblings and celebrate your birthday with them in our museum! Together you will go on a journey into the past, explore mysterious things, discover foreign countries and hear funny fairy tales. After an exciting tour through the museum, you can get creative and paint, do handicrafts and design in our adventure workshop.

As a birthday child, you will receive invitation cards for your friends and a small gift from us. Of course, you can also bring a birthday cake for your guests.

It is said that a four-leaf clover brings good luck. Try it out and look for shamrocks on an exciting scavenger hunt through the museum. Can you find the treasure that is said to have been hidden in the old walls for centuries? You can then record your experiences on the search for happiness in a self-made travel diary.
