From fiber to clothing

Textile production and clothing among the Danube Swabians

For grades 3 - 6

What materials are fabrics made from? How is a textile fabric made from threads? How are the fabrics embellished? And what does the clothing of the Danube Swabians look like? The children deal with these questions using original materials and tools. You will get to know the clothes of the Danube Swabians, learn how they were worn and what you could read on them. How do our clothes today differ from them?

Duration: 60 – 90 minutes (and by arrangement)
Fee: €1 per student (2 accompanying adults free)
