Faith turned into stone

Church architecture in the Temescher Banat18th century

06/16/04 - 06/20/04

The Banat was strongly shaped by the political and cultural center of Vienna. An external characteristic is the stereometric architecture of the 18th century, which defines the architectural landscape almost across the board. Using the example of church buildings, the exhibition showed how this unifying architecture came into being, what models it had and how it shapes the landscape, both the towns and the villages to this day.
