As part of the international youth encounters in the Danube region, the event "Young Danube Bridges" is held once a year in Vienna. The EU strategy for the Danube region and its 115 million inhabitants offers a unique opportunity to promote cross-border cooperation and accelerate the sustainable economic and cultural development of Central and Eastern Europe.

In this context, the project tries to get pupils from the Danube countries interested in the political development of Europe. The focus of the event is on conveying the contents of the macro strategy in a way that is appropriate for young people and on carrying out a political simulation game. In addition to an exciting city tour of Vienna, a visit to UNO City is also on the agenda.

In principle, participation in the event is open to all young people who come from one of the countries in the Danube region. In order for the event to be a success for everyone, there are a few basic requirements to enable successful and pleasant work together:

  • Good to very good knowledge of German is required
  • Minimum age is 16 years
  • Participation in the workshops and events is mandatory
  • There is a willingness to get to know young people from the countries of the Danube region

The event is a cooperation between the culture officer for the Danube region at the Danube Swabian Central Museum, the Vienna City Administration and the Ulm/Neu-Ulm Danube Office.
