Romania -a European cultural heritage /Timisoara gates

03/16/07 - 06/10/07

In the exhibition “Romania – A European Cultural Heritage” outstanding monuments were presented in their regional and ethnic environment. The diverse testimonies of architecture, culture and history as well as handed down traditions were presented from antiquity to the present day using individual examples in photographs and graphics.

The “Temeswarer Tore” area is dedicated to an important detail of the built heritage. In an unprecedented photographic documentation, photographer Walther Konschitzky captured the evidence in Timisoara, the capital of the Banat cultural landscape, from an aesthetic distance with the camera. The exhibition thus made a contribution to the preservation of the specific cultural landscape and informed the public about the new EU country Romania.
