Reformation inEastern Europe

05/04/17 - 06/18/17

The Reformation, which began with Martin Luther’s posting of the theses in 1517, also spread to eastern Central Europe. The cities and areas in which German was spoken played a major role.

The exhibition shows how the Reformation spread to the east and what effect it is still having there today. One focus is on the Danube region: Transylvania and Slovakia (formerly Upper Hungary) are presented in detail.

A traveling exhibition by the German Cultural Forum for Eastern Europe, Potsdam, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
