In 2010 Silke Schwarz traveled to Serbia, to the old homeland of her grandfather. In her luggage she had memories of Danube Swabians from their hometowns Obrovac and Bačka Palanka. Schwarz placed this remembered homeland in a current context by juxtaposing photographs of these places. This is how an exciting dialogue developed between text and image, between past and present, between memory and the changing place of origin.
