A further nine museums and museum-like institutions provide information about the past and present of German culture in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. They are dedicated to the preservation, research and presentation of the cultural assets in these regions. The museums were set up by the federal, state and local governments on the basis of Section 96 of the Federal Expellees and Refugees Act.

Partner institutions in Baden-Württemberg


The state of Baden-Württemberg promotes cultural work in accordance with Section 96 BVFG in three of its own state cultural and research institutions with which the Danube Swabian Central Museum cooperates.

The Danube Swabian Central Museum is in close contact with museums in Hungary, Romania and Serbia and regularly carries out projects with them.
