In its new project, the International DZM Forum ‘Migration Connects’ is exploring the current special exhibition. Based on the exhibition ‘Heavy Fabric’, which traces the lives of the Danube Swabians with the help of items of clothing, the participants will create their own small presentation.
In ‘fabric stories’, they tell their ‘textile’ stories, i.e. experiences and memories that they associate with certain items of clothing, styles, fabrics or patterns.
A carpet that has disappeared and is still missing today, a band shirt, a typical embroidery – there is a personal story behind all of these things.
Using various techniques, the participants will realise their ‘fabric story’ on a cushion cover.
