Waldsee 1944 -Greetings from Auschwitz

05/05/06 - 06/08/06

Traveling exhibition at Galéria 2B, Budapest: an artistic examination of the subject of the deportation of Hungarian Jews to Auschwitz. When the National Socialists began to deport Jews from Budapest to the extermination camp in 1944, the deportees had to send postcards to their relatives in Hungary. These cards simulated that the deportees had arrived in a place called Waldsee and that they were doing well there. For the exhibition, artists from Hungary, America and Baden-Württemberg created works in postcard format.
