Germans in Hungary -Hungary in Germany

European ways of life

07/09/06 - 10/08/06

What is life like between two countries, cultures and languages? One simple question – many complicated answers! The exhibition, which Hungarians and Germans developed together, showed how different such an existence can be. The lives of 22 people – from the High Middle Ages to the present – illustrated that wandering between two worlds means both: pleasure and burden. They also showed that our thinking within national borders is historically still young and by no means self-evident. All of these life stories are pieces of the mosaic in the historical development of German-Hungarian relations.
