Numerous ethnic groups still live together in the multiethnic region. The rich cultural heritage of the country, the people, the varied and beautiful landscape and outstanding architectural evidence are shown in the exhibition. The focus is on the cultural heritage of the Banat Swabians as well as the other groups represented here, such as the Romanians, Hungarians, Serbs, Slovaks, Czechs and others. The Banat appears like a forerunner of the European Community, in which the multi-ethnic, tolerant coexistence functioned for centuries. It is also an area of particular character. In the north the region is bounded by the Mieresch (Mure\u015f, Maros), in the east by the foothills of the Southern Carpathians, in the south by the Danube and in the west by the Theiss (Tisza).
