Literature concert with Stephan Schäfer (reading) and Alexander Pankov (accordion)

Thursday, May 5, 7 p.m

The famous fairy tale writer undertook a Danube journey in 1841: against the current, from the mouth to Vienna. His entertaining travelogue puts us right in the middle of the multicultural hustle and bustle on board his steamboat. He takes us to Bulgaria’s minarets and Serbia’s oak forests, to picturesque villages with children, swineherds, musicians and storks. But cultural sites such as Belgrade, Budapest and Pressburg are also on the shore.

The Cologne artist duo Stephan Schäfer and Alexander Pankov give Andersen’s journey new life and an intoxicating atmosphere.
